The Australian Police side were gallant in defeat at Brookvale oval yesterday. Thursday the 24th September 2011, saw the Australian affiliated states team race in thirty points in the first half against the Australian Police team. The Australian Police side was first to score, but a glut of possession to the affiliated states team and a one sided penalty count saw them gain momentum and post thirty unanswered points in the first half. The Affiliated states team seemed well schooled in the ruck area and constantly slowed down the Australian Police play the ball. At half time the Australian Police team remained positive whilst the scoreboard showed 30-6. Coached by Queensland Police coach Terry Borland, the Australian Police dug deep in the second half winning the second half 18-6, however it wasn't enough and the overall score favoured the affiliated states 36-24. The Police really dominated the second half and ran out of time after steam rolling their more fancied opposition. Best for the Australian Police team were Marc Smith, Robbie Mears, Mitch West and Queensland centre Mahon who posted two tries and was unlucky when pulled up for a double movement scoring a third. The Australian Police enjoyed a five day camp based at Manly and the two states fostered excellent camaraderie. See the 'Australian reps' category for team photograph.
